June 2nd: A Day in Madrid
We arrived in Madrid at 8:15 am, after a red-eye from NYC. Tired.....that's how we felt. Tired, but happy to have arrived! After getting our car, we drove to our hotel - Hotel Claridge. David gave me directions as I learned how the traffic flows here in Madrid.
It was fun! I enjoy adventure, David, and Anna Mae, gave me excellent directions as I drove. They were extra eyes for me that helped me to maneuver safely among traffic. It reminded me of a scripture in Isaiah 30:21, "Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it,' whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left."
I love it that we also have the quiet, but wise, voice of the Holy Spirit that we can listen to for direction when we are living our lives to the fullest! The abundant life is living in all of it's splendor, with confidence. We can take on new and unknown challenges confidently. It is great!
Rested and relaxed...we took a ride on the metro (the Madrid subway) to get into the heart of the city for some sightseeing, shopping, and dinner! Since none of us speak or read Spanish fluently, it was a hilarious sight using the ticket vending machine...but we got 'er done!
God's reminder to me today...His direction in my life is good! It is worth listening to and following. God's direction isn't to steer clear of adventure, but to embrace it with the confidence that He will direct your path.
How about you? Are you willing to take on the adventures of this life with confidence, knowing He will direct your path?
Have a great day!
