June 16: Arc de Triumphe, Champs-Elysees and La Tour Eiffel

All three of us took on the Arc de Triumphe and Champs Elysees today together.  Then, afterwards, Anna Mae and I went to the top of La Tour Eiffel!  Wow!  Today was a go hard or go home touristy day!

First up....Arc de Triumphe

The Arc de Triumph is really large and awe inspiring.  It's artwork is really intricate and then underneath is the memorial for the unknown soldier, where the torch has been burning continually since 1921!  Wow!

Looking down the Champs-Elysees, the main road leading to and from the Arc de Triumph, was pretty cool too.  It is a street now known for it's high end shopping, but it is a massive sight to behold in length and breadth as well.  It's looonggg too...I know because we walked it for most of the way!

Ok, so walking on that HUGE avenue reminded me of a scripture passage in Matthew 7:13-14.  Here Jesus said, "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

The Champs-Elysees is huge-hug;  maybe even bordering on enormous.  So is the path that leads us AWAY from the Lord in this life.  Far better to travel the 'road less taken' as believers!  Staying true to the Lord is important.  I want to draw near to him, and walk the narrow path!  You?

By the time Anna Mae and I got to La Tour Eiffel, it was evening.  The lines were long to get in, REALLY long to get tickets, and a little long to get on the elevator.  We definately didn't take the 'path less travelled' (the stairs) tonight!  It was chilly!

Arriving on top, we were just in time to watch the sunset.  Spectacular!!!

ANOTHER REALLY GOOD DAY IN PARIS...I LOVE TRAVELLING!  Love the life you live.  Live the life you love!!!
