June 14: A Peaceful Bike Ride Along the Seine River
If you have been following my travel journal, you know that I love a good bike ride. Today I had the opportunity for a 2 hour ride along the Seine River. Right in the heart of Paris! Here are some videos of my ride.
A little slice of peace and quiet for me in the midst of the city! I spent about two hours riding, and loved every single minute of it! As I was riding along, it got me thinking about God and where he says who may dwell on his holy hill with him.
Yesterday, I visited Sacred Heart Basilica, which is on the hill in Paris. Psalm 15 talks about who can dwell with God on his holy hill.....
"Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle?
Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
He who walks uprightly,
And works righteousness,
And speaks the truth in his heart;
He who does not backbite with his tongue,
Nor does evil to his neighbor,
Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend;
In whose eyes a vile person is despised,
But he honors those who fear the Lord;
He who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
He who does not put out his money at usury,
Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be moved." (Psalm 15)
You know, I don't want to be blown about. I want to be a person who isn't moved by people, places or things. I want to be steadfast. I want to dwell with God in his holy hill in my heart.
What about you?
That's what I thought about on my ride today as I took in the beauty.
Have a great day,
